Yes, completely. Our rope sandals are made exclusively from recycled polypropylene rope — no animal-derived material is used. They are perfectly suited to vegans and vegetarians.

The rope is made of recycled polypropylene, largely sourced from recycled plastic: plastic bottles, plastic bags, etc. This material is more wear-resistant than traditional rope, offers greater comfort and is part of the zero-waste approach our brand applies throughout its operations.

Yes. The recycled polypropylene rope gradually adapts to the shape of your foot. From the very first try-on you feel like you are walking barefoot on a rug. After only a few hours of wear, the sandals naturally mould to your foot for an even more personalised comfort. They are designed to be worn all day long, at the beach as well as in the city.

Absolutely. Our sandals are designed to last and to accompany your travels. The sole and the rope are assembled by hand to guarantee optimal sturdiness. Many customers wear them for several years.

With proper care, your sandals can last 3 to 5 years, or even longer. The recycled polypropylene rope is resistant to water, salt and daily wear.

Like any shoe or sandal, Nomadic sandals can slip when wet. Note too that traditional rope sandals, with no sole, tend to slip on parquet and marble floors. For better grip, we offer models with a sole made of recycled-plastic rubber, which provide better traction, good water resistance and enhanced durability.

No break-in period is needed. From the very first try-on, most of our customers describe the feeling of walking barefoot on a rug: our sandals are comfortable straight away.

Our sandals are available from EU 34 to 47. Check our 'Sizes in Cm' guide available in the MISCELLANEOUS INFO menu. If you are between two sizes, we recommend going for the smaller size because, according to our customers' feedback, our sandals generally run half a size larger than other sandals on the market.

Yes, most of our models (JC, Romano, Toe Joe, Slip On) are unisex and available for both men and women. We also offer a dedicated selection for children.

Yes, we offer rope sandals for children, light and hard-wearing, made from the same vegan and eco-responsible materials as our adult models.

Yes. Thanks to the supple rope that hugs the shape of the foot, our sandals suit most feet, including wide ones or those with a high instep. Tip: if you have wide feet, do not size down — choose your usual size. The models that adapt best to wide feet are the JC and the lace-up models such as the Romano. We advise against the Slip On and Moses Twisted models. The models with adjustable straps are the lace-up models such as the Romano and the Moses Woven.

Yes! Put your sandals in a protective laundry bag and run a machine cycle. This is the recommended method for a deep clean without damaging the rope. For more information, we advise you to read our sandal-care section.

Yes. The polypropylene rope is resistant to sea water, fresh water and chlorine. Your sandals can be worn at the beach and by the pool without any problem. However, after direct contact with salt water we advise you to wash your sandals the same day, or at least rinse them with running water.

Let them air-dry in the sun, and avoid any direct contact with a heat source (radiator). This way the rope keeps its suppleness and its shape.

In mainland France, depending on the shipping method chosen, you will receive your sandals within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery is available in several countries and can vary between 3 and 7 business days. Shipping costs are calculated at the payment step.

Yes, outside France we ship to several countries: Italy - Belgium - Luxembourg - Netherlands - Portugal - Switzerland - United Kingdom. Nomadic State Of Mind is present in more than 25 countries around the world.

We accept the main bank cards (Visa, Mastercard) via Shopify Payments, as well as PayPal and Stripe. Payment in instalments is available via PayPal and Stripe, subject to their eligibility conditions. You can also pay in one click with Shop Pay and Apple Pay. All payments are 100% secure.

All our shipments have a tracking number, which is sent to you as soon as your order is dispatched. You can also contact our support during office hours to find out the status of your delivery. Our carriers: Mondial Relay (pickup point — free delivery from €100 of purchase, or economy delivery at €4), Colissimo (standard delivery to mainland France and Belgium) and Chronopost (European deliveries). With Mondial Relay, you choose the pickup point nearest to you; if it is full, your parcel is automatically redirected to a nearby pickup point.

For countries subject to customs duties (such as Switzerland and the United Kingdom), the price of the sandals is automatically recalculated and reduced when you select your delivery country. This way, once the customs duties are paid in your country, your sandals cost you the same as if you had bought them in France.

Our sandals are guaranteed against manufacturing defects. If a rope breaks shortly after purchase, with no misuse on your part (for example sandals dragged on the road or cut with a sharp object), we replace the pair. If the model concerned is no longer available at the time of the request, you can wait for the next restock or choose a similar model — no refund is possible in this case. For any request, write to us at contact@nomadicstateofmind.fr, attaching photos: both sandals side by side seen from above, seen from below (whole soles), and a close-up of the defect.

The brand was founded in 1999 by Chris Anderson, a vegan American who made his first sandals by hand in his Volkswagen van at alternative festivals. For 25 years, we have carried on this artisanal know-how.

All our sandals are handmade in Nicaragua, in our fair-trade factory. Each pair is the result of the work of our skilled artisans, with respect for dignified and fair working conditions.

We are committed on three fronts: the use of recycled materials (recycled polypropylene rope), vegan and eco-friendly glue that respects the environment, and a zero-waste policy in our workshops — all rope offcuts are used to create bags, rugs and various wall decorations — plus fair-trade manufacturing in Nicaragua. Our sandals are vegan, with no animal-derived component whatsoever.

Yes. The brand is distributed in more than 25 countries and has been featured in many international media: Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Men's Health, Marie Claire and many others. For several years Nomadic has been considered a must-have by a large number of bloggers around the world.

The polypropylene of our sandals is technically recyclable through standard channels (yellow recycling bin). We are also working to set up a take-back and recycling programme for used sandals. Before throwing them away, consider reading our care tips: a simple wash and a few touch-ups (with a pair of scissors and a lighter) can restore your sandals to their original look and extend their life. True to our zero-waste approach, we also repurpose all production rope offcuts into bags, rugs and decorations.

Then, either one of our sales agents for your region will visit you directly in store, or orders will be taken directly with the office. The minimum order is 48 pairs (6 packs of 8 pairs), with free choice of sizes; we remain open to discussion on a case-by-case basis.
